We predict great things for  Melanie Porter, a company that has tapped into the zeitgeist for traditional crafts – in this case knitting – to produce quirky products that feel both nostalgic but very much of the moment.

Trained at Central Saint Martin’s College, Melanie has adapted the skills she employed for 10 years as a fashion knitwear designer, to breathe new life into antiques sourced across the UK.  The company provides a unique range of one-off knit-covered chairs, tables and lamps with Melanie overseeing the whole process herself.

Each piece is given a name that reflects its specific character, which often emerges during its creation. So, by investing in a product from Melanie’s range, you will be purchasing something that already has bags of personality!

Check out Melanie’s fantastic creations at Tent London on 20-23 September where she wi

ll be showcasing a number of new pieces.
